3D Model to PNG
Turn STL, OBJ or STEP model views into PNG images in your browser. Choose a transparent background or download front, side and top views together in a ZIP.
Enable JavaScript to open a model and use the interactive workspace.
How do I use this tool?
- Choose an OBJ, STL or STEP model from your device.
- Preview your model and adjust the settings.
- Create your output and download the result.
What does this tool do?
Capture the current view, or download front, side and top views in a ZIP. Images are rendered at the current canvas resolution (up to 2× device pixels). Transparent images omit the floor grid.
What are the file limits?
Models are processed locally. Inputs are limited to 50 MB per file and 500,000 triangles after import. Individual operations may have lower limits described below. Performance depends on your device.
JavaScript, WebAssembly and WebGL are required for the interactive workspace.
How are models processed?
Mesh loading and rendering use Three.js. STEP import and tessellation use occt-import-js, based on Open Cascade. These sources describe the underlying libraries; this tool's supported features and limits are listed on this page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn a 3D model into a PNG image?
Open an OBJ, STL or STEP model, adjust the view, then select Download PNG. The result is a rendered picture of the model, not a heightmap, depth map or editable 3D file.
Can I save the model with a transparent background?
Yes. Enable Transparent background before saving. The PNG keeps transparency and omits the floor grid, so it can be placed over another image or document background.
Can I download front, side and top views together?
Yes. Use the three-view ZIP option to save front.png, side.png and top.png in one archive. These are rendered model views, not dimensioned CAD drawings.
What resolution will the PNG have?
Images use the current canvas resolution, with device pixel density capped at 2 times the CSS size. There is no custom pixel-size or print-DPI control. Increase the available canvas space before capture if you need a larger image.
